About Us

BNI started in January 1985 by Dr. Ivan R. Misner, Founder & CEO of Business Network International. BNI provides a positive, supportive, and structured environment for men and women to further their business through word of mouth marketing.

Networking requires commitment. The most successful chapters of BNI are comprised of participants who are sincerely committed to helping one another through networking. They are a team. As a participant in BNI, you are responsible for complying with the policies and guidelines of the organization. A partial list of BNI policies are listed below:


WHAT YOU SHOULD KNOW:

1) Only one person from each profession is permitted to join a chapter of BNI.

2) All participants should represent their primary occupation, not a part-time business.

3) Attendance is critical. If you cannot attend a meeting, you may send a substitute. This will not count as an absence.

4) Participants are required to bring bona-fide referrals and/or visitors to their chapter of BNI.


In 2011 members of BNI passed over 5,000,000 referrals which generated more than £1 billion worth of business for each other. BNI is a 25 year old business and professional organisation that allows only one person from each trade or profession to join a chapter. With over 3,500 active chapters, and more than 75,000 members, it is the most successful business referral organisation in the world.

Because all the members carry several copies of your business cards around with them, when they meet someone who could use your products or services, they hand out your card and recommend you. It's as simple as that! It's simple because it's based on a proven concept by BNI Founder, Dr Ivan Misner, called "givers gain." If I give you business you'll give me business and we'll both benefit as a result.
